The City of Whitehorse has become the latest municipality to join the ever growing ranks of Citywide Open Space customers.
The tree contract which commenced in January of this year, has the Citywide Trees Team provide maintenance services to over 75,000 trees located on nature strips, medians and park edges throughout the City of Whitehorse.
To secure a contract of this size is an excellent result for Citywide and a great way to start the New Year.
This four year multi-million dollar contract will see Citywide provide arboricultural services such as pruning, tree removal, stump grinding and power line, road and footpath tree clearance.
Employing a team of skilled and dedicated staff to undertake this contract, Citywide has met this challenge head on having already deployed a fleet of Travel Towers and Truck / Chipper combinations required for this work.
“It was a great achievement by the team to recruit 20 new Arborists, acquire the trucks and equipment in a very short mobilization time frame over the Christmas period. We are really looking forward to providing a quality service to the people of Whitehorse through the responsible and sustainable maintenance of some of their most important living assets,” said Citywide’s Open Spaces Divisional Manager, Dean Grant.
In a cause for further celebration for Citywide, the Whitehorse contract victory also marked the momentous milestone of one million trees under Citywide’s care.
