Following many years of achieving remarkable worker safety records and improved return to work statistics, Citywide is on track to become an industry leader when it comes to providing safe working conditions for its employees.
Our commitment to the safety of our workers was highlighted last month when we celebrated 9 years without a single lost time injury (LTI) at our Open Space Bayside Depot. In recognition of this important achievement, the staff celebrated with a team breakfast attended by Managing Director Kerry Osborne, Chief Operating Officer Jim Dunstan and Open Space Divisional Manager Dean Grant.
Citywide’s close monitoring of high risk occupational areas has seen the company wide Lost Time Injury (LTI) level register at 1.65. An incredible effort when you consider the industry average is almost double Citywide’s rate at 3.3.
A strong culture fostered on worker safety and looking out for fellow employees has contributed towards these outstanding results.
Commenting on this achievement, Citywide’s Risk and IT Group Manager Craig Nisbet, “Across the organisation, our people have done an outstanding job ensuring our employees remain safe and protected at all times. By supervising and monitoring our staff we’ve been able to develop a strong culture for worker safety that’s proving beneficial.”
