Neither rain nor hail could stop the thousands of arborists from around the world who descended upon the western Sydney suburb of Parramatta for the International Society of Arboriculture’s Annual Conference and Tree Climbing Championships.
The ISA's annual International Conference and Trade Show is the world's premier gathering of arboricultural professionals, where practicing arborists and urban foresters come together with top researchers and educators to learn the latest in research, technology, and innovations in arboriculture and urban forestry.
Held outside the Northern Hemisphere for the first time in the ISA’s 87 year history, the 5 day event was a fantastic opportunity for arborists located around the globe to share experiences, exchange different techniques discuss the latest technological advancements in equipment and participate in various hands on workshops, seminars and demonstrations.
A silver sponsor throughout the course of the event, Citywide was duly represented with 20 arborists in attendance from both the Open Spaces and Northern Region divisions. Dividing their time between the information seminars and manning the Citywide stand at the trade exhibition; our arborists did a fantastic job in projecting and showcasing the Citywide brand to the global arboricultural community.
Fittingly, the five day event concluded with a sizeable crowd of 900 people attending the traditional Gala Dinner and Auction Night.
Dean Grant, Citywide’s Open Spaces Divisional Manager, commenting on the success of the event said, “the ISA Conference was a great opportunity for our guys and girls to get away for a couple of days and to not only spend some time bonding as a team but to also pick up some handy tips and information that would ultimately assist their arboricultural development.”
The conference moves back to the United States next year where it is scheduled to take place in Portland, Oregon.
