Citywide lend a Helping Hand to those in need

by Citywide | 22.12.2014
CITYWIDE helped spread much needed Christmas cheer to people who struggle to make ends meet, especially during the festive season.

Across Victoria, Citywide teams donated items such as non-perishable food and toiletries, which were delivered to Uniting Care’s Helping Hand Foundation in Croydon well in time for Christmas.

For the eighth year running, Citywide team members filled up a car full of goods and headed to the foundation’s headquarters where they were greeted by volunteers.

The volunteers were astounded at the amount of goods donated and were very grateful for the Citywide teams generosity.

As a company that is committed to enriching the lives of the communities it serves, Citywide is honoured to make the experience of Christmas a bit brighter for those in need, and to help celebrate the spirit of giving and compassion.

With almost three million Australians currently living below the poverty line, the foundation work tirelessly to provide assistance to people in times of hardship.

The volunteers at Uniting Care are accepting of everyone. Whilst Uniting Care provides these items to those who need it most, people who visit receive more than just a meal. They receive a sense of being welcome in a safe place, and often feel reprieve from a society where they may commonly face judgement and misunderstanding.

The volunteers at Uniting Care expressed that the people who receive the donated items are always extremely appreciative and thankful for everything they received.

The items that are donated to Uniting Care are distributed to people in need throughout the City of Maroondah.
