FOR more than 27 years, Technigro has been providing South-East Queensland with highly effective, environmentally sustainable and award-winning vegetation management solutions.
Servicing high-profile customers, including Gold Coast City Council and Brisbane City Council (in a partnership that has spanned 17 years), Technigro’s suite of specialised services includes weed management, grass cutting and bush regeneration (just to name a few). More recently, Technigro has been delivering weed control services throughout the streets of Brisbane – this is the largest urban road-network weed management contract in the country.
With almost three decades of experience, Technigro has mastered the techniques and technologies required to provide environmentally and socially conscientious integrated vegetation management (IVM) services – a term Technigro use to describe a way of better preserving, protecting and enhancing the environment. IVM is about innovative solutions specifically designed by Technigro to overcome the challenges associated with conventional, reactive forms of vegetation management.
Using IVM strategies, Technigro has been partnering with Brisbane City Council since 2008 on a safer, more sustainable approach to managing mown vegetation – such as the treatment of invasive tall-growing weeds to reduce the amount of mowing required, which in turn reduces disruptions to traffic and results in cost savings for the Council.
Technigro’s approach to weed control is just as innovative as its grass management. Examples include:
- Safety Capsule – Australia’s leading vehicle-mounted direct-target weed control system, which is now one of the safest methods of managing vegetation on road networks. It significantly improves worker health and safety and is 100 per cent more efficient than conventional methods.
- DriftProof Sprayer – an award-winning, environmentally friendly spraying device for parklands and sporting fields. It reduces chemical use by up to 70 per cent while eliminating harmful spray drift.
Meeting its customers’ needs with innovative solutions makes Technigro a forward-looking company that isn’t afraid to think big. As Business Manager Nick Bloor said: “We are committed to working closely with our partners and customers to develop the suite of solutions we offer the Australian market, and integrate innovative technologies into our day-to-day operations.”
By implementing IVM strategies Technigro ensures that the communities of Queensland receive value for money services and more sustainable outcomes. The company’s commitment to safety and its care and respect for the environment has won the trust and recognition of industry authorities and local communities. The company recently won the 2014 Sustainable Initiatives Award from Parks and Leisure Australia – an award which proudly joins many others on Technigro’s wall.
Technigro became part of the Citywide Group of companies in 2013. Both companies are leaders in open space innovation, and helping customers implement sustainable and socially conscious solutions. They also both have the added benefit of being able to leverage off each other’s experience to provide customers with the most effective strategies. As part of the Citywide Group, Technigro is now equipped to deliver a complete open space solution, including mowing, weed control, planting, arboricultural services and much more.
