    ‘Open Garden Day’ provides support to families in need

    In late October, six beautiful gardens were opened to the public in the picturesque bay side suburb of Brighton, Victoria. As part of the ‘Open Garden Day’ initiative, its purpose was to raise money for Family Life - a not for profit community organisation that helps struggling families by providing counselling, support groups, training and community development services in the Southern Metropolitan Region of Melbourne.

    Blooming Miracle - Victoria’s Floral Emblem back from near extinction

    After seventy years of decimation by suburban developments, weed infestations and in more recent times severe drought, dedicated volunteers from the Bayside Community Nursery have nurtured Victoria’s floral emblem the Pink Heath back from the point of extinction.

    Citywide Champions Memorial Garden and Cairn relocation to Melbourne’s Shrine Reserve

    Citywide, with the City of Melbourne and the Shrine Trustees recently relocated the Ex-Servicewomen’s Memorial Cairn. This monument was established in the memory of over 70,000 Australian Ex-Servicewomen who proudly represented our country from the Boer War through to 1985.
