A clear vision for growth that mirrors the rapid urban expansion of Australia’s major metro centres has driven another productive year and strong financial result for Citywide.

The company posted a profit from ordinary activities (before income tax) of $6.1 million, beating budget and setting a foundation for substantial future growth, Citywide’s Chief Executive Officer Chris Campbell said.

“This year, we asked ourselves: where do we want to be in 2025? It was an important question we needed to answer in order to understand what we want our company to look like in seven years’ time,” Mr Campbell said.

“Put simply, our shared vision is for all people to live and prosper in safe, healthy, and vibrant cities as these cities grow – a phenomenon we are already witnessing with the rapid urban growth in all the areas we operate.

“It’s an exciting, bold vision for true growth, real progress and a clear course that has already been established by this year’s positive financial result, beating Budget.”

Mr Campbell said this year’s result reinforced the capability and future focus of Citywide’s operational teams, underpinned by a whole-of-company approach to designing our Culture.

This included a significant drop in the company’s Injury Severity Rate, an important success metric in entrenching the kind of safety culture Citywide has continued to drive home.

“Safety will always be core to what we do, not just the safety and wellbeing of our people but also the communities we serve every day,” Mr Campbell said.

“By designing the holistic culture we want at Citywide, we will ensure we have the right teams of people in place to continue the essential civic services delivery our customers and their community constituents expect towards realising our shared vision.

“It is only going to be more challenging as our metro regions, cities and regional communities continue to experience rapid growth but a challenge we are best placed to take on.”
