Audrey Moala community wellness initiative

Concern for the health and well-being of her local neighbourhood has seen Melbourne Trees Operations Supporter Audrey Moala join forces with several friends to open a new community wellness centre serving the City of Brimbank.

Audrey and her co-founders in the WolfzDen Wellness Centre identified a need for a holistic wellbeing support service, particularly with the growing issues of obesity and mental health.

"The growing noise around physical, mental and emotional wellbeing stresses the need for increased connections among the community. It was something we knew we couldn't ignore and even us as leaders, are self-developing and progressing as individuals in the process," explains Audrey.

"As family friends, we looked around at what was happening in the community - not just in Brimbank but globally; identifying and supporting our vision of a more holistic approach to providing physical education, spiritual guidance, mindfulness and emotional wellbeing services as our ministry."

Partnering with a few community organisations and qualified professionals, the group opened the WolfzDen doors in October 2018.

Whilst four of the six team members are qualified ZUU trainers (high intensity body weight fitness), they also recognise the need to address other health and wellness challenges such as nutritional advice for obesity, spiritual guidance, mental and emotional health issues, particularly for at-risk and low socio-economic families.

At the centre, a family can get fit together, pray, seek council services, receive free fruit and vege and adopt a new culture with new friends with all services free for users.
